Every version of the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma will come with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and it will be available in a variety of formats. You can choose from an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, and you'll also have your choice of rear- or four-wheel drive. The base turbo-four will generate 228 horsepower and higher trims come with a more potent engine that will deliver 278 horsepower. The I-Force Max engine will be the top of the food chain with 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet.
Technology and safety features
The new Tacoma for 2024 will come with a standard 8-inch touch screen on most Tacoma trims. Starting with the Limited model, the bigger 14.0-inch touch screen is available. Every Tacoma trim comes with wireless smartphone connectivity and wireless device charging. Safety features will include a forward collision warning system, automatic emergency braking, a lane departure warning system and lane keeping assist.
The interior
Most new Tacoma models will have a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster while the TRD Off-Road models and higher will come with a bigger 12.3-inch digital system. The TRD Pro is expected to offer an IsoDynamic seat with a special system that does a better job of controlling body movement when you're on uneven surfaces.
The exterior
The all-new 2024 Tacoma is expected to be offered with extended cab and crew cab body styles. The extended cab comes with a six-foot cargo bed while the double cab is available with either the longer bed or a shorter five-foot configuration. The new Tacoma will come with big tires, a slim body, high lift and a muscular athletic stance that will define the Tacoma look.
